I hope you would read Duties of Parents and Christian Living in the Home and Shepherding a Child's Heart, whenever you grow weary and long for the riches of Christian Family as you grow older and life seems not to be the same. Keep striving and nurturing and reaching for what God has placed in your heart as a yearning for the unity of Christian Family. It looks automatic to you, I know. But, it is not. It is deliberate and it is agonized for, in prayer and in effort.
It took effort for your father to take his time to instruct us in the Word of God. It took effort for me to cook and make a meal for our enjoyment. It took grace and mercy for God to respect our efforts and be among us to make the Word of God effectual for our profit and growth. You look at it, like this is just what happens. Pray that God would sustain and grow your yearnings for a Christian Home to another level of God's Glory. It is only that we yearn for God's glory that He would honor us to continue and bless us to minister to each other and others for Him. Let that light and that expectation guide and direct your ambitions for your future. God is faithful!Saturday, April 4, 2015
Who loves you, baby? We love you Ezra!
Good Friday was a special celebration of family growth and ministry. How we affect and infect each other to the glory is the fruit of the grace of God and the mercy of God that has been started in Christ and nurtured by many ministries and churches that have instructed us of the duties of parents and families to and with one another.

The Appian Way??? It's Sumner or Sumter not Sutter.
I think you will find this amusing... My dad and I used to ride to Brooklyn in the car together. He found every shortcut, it seemed and I just watched him drive through all kinds of neighborhoods, to get to a place that the highway would take us in a minute, it seemed. He knew the streets like a boy who had walked those streets and learned them by heart. When he was a boy, you couldn't even drive on some of them much less walk or a gangwar might ensue.
We found one street off of Linden Blvd that went all the way into Brooklyn and he would say it to me everyday as we traversed the "mean" morning traffic to find a "quicker way". Is this quicker? I would think to myself, though I would never say it. It was Sutter or Sumter or something like that. This song makes me think of those long silent trips.

Do You Walk like an Egyptian?
"When did you hear that song, mommy?" I am not as dumb as I look, eh?
That is not Christian music? I am not saying that it is.Learn with all of the mental faculties you can muster. That is walking like an Egyptian. By the time they had subdued the world in Joseph's day, they had wrestled many truths out of the devil's hands. God stomped them like they had stomped the children of Israel, but He had every intention of saving them, and the ends of the earth.
Faith doesn't give us an excuse not to study to wrestle the dominions out of the devil's hands. We must do that and stomp on his demon head. That is the redemption of "Walking like an Egyptian". I pray you walk with your feet on the devil's head and your hand in Jesus'. Amen.

Stuff that I didn't learn by osmosis...
Some things we do seem to learn by osmosis, don't we? I might have a mental block about some things, but I didn't learn anything about God by osmosis. I was taught it and it was told me, but I didn't learn it. How could that be?
You are made in the image of God and for His glory. What happens when children don't get a grasp of this truth early in life? You can't beat that truth into them? You can't just tell them about it. I really never got that truth.
Catechism is a framework of thinkingWhen the building blocks come together and the scriptures come together with the work of the Holy Spirit, that is when you get it. Until then, it is just a bunch of facts and figures. The highest calculus is simple math in comparison to God's reality, without the Holy Spirit's ministry of it into your soul. We must pray for enlightenment...We say, Lord, I don't get it. I don't see You in the stuff my parents and the elders are saying. I really want to know what these people are saying, but, without your Spirit there is just a vacuum of talk...Why do they get so excited about worship? Why do they listen and talk about God so very much? Show me, Lord the reality of Your purpose for my life. I really want to know that. What is in Your image? What means for Your glory? How can I stop my own self seeking? Those are the spiritual questions of life and I really do hope that your experience will be that God made these things very real to me in my earliest time and I had the privilege of walking with God from my earliest remembrance. Love, Mom.
