We have to represent the Walker family healthy snack kick. What shall we choose? It would be my choice of some sugary sweet tooth snack that would wake them all up and give their teachers a run for their money. Not good. And not a responsible parents good choice. I am the mother, but I am the age of the grandmother. Doting comes second nature when you feel the brevity of life and you are aware that the time that you have with this fellow, you'd want to sweeten with as much sugar as possible.
What shall I choose? ie:Fruit, nuts, cookies, salty snacks, candy, the choices are endless.
Responsible snacks for the class are necessary to being a responsible parent of a kindergartner.
My first child had brown sugar sweeteners and home baked snacky things only. Now, its not fun if it has no preservatives. That is life!

After a long recuperation
of 3 days, Ezra is better and off to school. It seems a shame that it is so hot outside and it is school time. It is like that all the time down here. Beautiful weather, sunny and nice. I looked at my coats in the closet the other day and rejoiced that we really don't need them that much down here, for the pleasantness. The people seem to exude that sense of freedom of the care of chills in their bones. This little cough that Ezra had got better so quickly that I have to blame the sunshine and blue skies. Mrs. Guffey said he is behaving himself and being a good boy, so far. We will see...
I love him anyway.

I miss my baby Ezra.

He used to be so cute. Now he's a big boy and today I saw a joyful mommy of a tiny one month old enjoying the infancy time. It passes so quickly and we rarely appreciate the swiftness of its enjoyment. To everything there is a season and though it seems forever that these little ones are tugging at the heart and hands and aprons and body, it is really quite short. I am trying to remember to enjoy the season where we are. Go to bed children, there is school tomorrow!

Ezra has a cough.
This is really the first cough he's had in a long time. We bought orange juice and there will be alot of steaming tonight. His little voice is raspy and different. He needs more rest and will be at home tomorrow, maybe?
We are watching him for fever or changes in behavior, so far, none of the above.
